Andy’s talking about why he thinks the rumored tablet will have no hardware keyboard support. This is definitely the reason the iPhone doesn’t have physical keyboard support, but also the long-understood reasoning behind the Mac having one mouse button: it forced software to be designed simply and obviously. Apple seems to have forgotten that since shipping a multi-button mouse (which is configured as a single button by default, though): it now hides things in contextual menus. The worst offender is iTunes, which hides things like “Play in iTunes DJ” in those menus. Safari does, too, but that can be an unfortunate necessity. There’s no way to “select” a link to perform an action on from the menu.
iTunes has no excuse.
